Volkswagen unveils the structure for its eagerly awaited electric vehicle, the 2025 ID. Buzz, rejuvenating the iconic Microbus for a modern era. With three distinct trims – Pro S, Pro S Plus, and a limited 1st Edition – the 2025 model offers a variety of options for consumers.
Powered by a robust 91 kWh battery, the EV van offers two configurations: rear-wheel drive (RWD) with 282 hp and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option under the 4Motion brand, boasting up to 335 hp. While paying homage to the original Microbus, the ID. Buzz incorporates modern elements such as a large VW logo and expansive greenhouse, alongside 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels and dual power-sliding rear doors for enhanced accessibility.
Extensive color options, including two-tone and single-tone choices, allow for personalization, while the interior, available in three themed palettes – Moonlight, Dune, and Copper – offers a range of aesthetic options.
Technological features include a 12.9-inch infotainment display, wireless charging, and Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE advanced driver assistance system. The Pro S model seats up to seven passengers with bench seating, while the Pro S Plus and 1st Edition models offer configurations with optional captain’s chairs for increased comfort.
The Pro S Plus trim enhances the experience with a head-up display, a 700-watt harman/kardon sound system, and an electrochromic panoramic glass roof. The 1st Edition adds exclusive elements such as unique wheels, special badging, and additional high-end amenities.
Details on range and pricing are forthcoming from Volkswagen, with further information expected closer to the vehicle’s launch date.
