Julian Casablancas’ band, The Voidz, is set to release its first album in six years. While Casablancas is best known as the lead singer of The Strokes, he formed The Voidz over a decade ago with Jeff Kite, Alex Carapetis, and Jake Bercovici.
Julian Casablancas and The Voidz: A Collaborative History
Kite and Carapetis had previously worked with Casablancas as part of his backing band during his first solo tour. Bercovici joined the trio to create a backtrack for an advertising campaign featuring Casablancas. The Voidz debuted with their album Tyranny in 2014, followed by Virtue in 2018.
The Voidz New Album: Like All Before You Set for Release
The band’s third album, titled Like All Before You, is set to drop on September 20. The project was recorded at The Voidz’s home studio in Venice, California, and at Vox Studios in Los Angeles.
Like All Before You features 10 tracks, including the previously released songs “Prophecy Of The Dragon” and “Flexorcist.” The band has also unveiled a new single titled “Overture.”
In support of the new album, The Voidz will perform two concerts in October, one in Los Angeles and another in Harlem. Tickets for both events go on sale on Friday, July 12.
